| How I Came To Do This: |
| I played in worship bands (and fronted other original bands) for more than 20 years before finding a home at TFB in 2002. I was encouraged to lead corporate worship by my longtime friend, co-writer and worship leader/mentor, Dave Detwiler. It was Dave who recognized that my gifts and talents were a great fit for leading musical worship. Once given opportunities, it became clear to me that this was a calling that I had long ignored. |
| Background: |
| Other than a few years in college, I am a
lifetime resident of Torrance, CA. and an English teacher right next
door at Torrance High School. I played in worship bands (and other original rock and country bands) for more than 20 years before finding a home at TFB in 2002. I was encouraged to lead corporate worship by my longtime friend, co-writer and worship leader/mentor, Dave Detwiler. It was Dave who recognized that my gifts and talents were a great fit for leading musical worship. Once I started filling in, it became clear to me that this was a calling that I had long ignored. As a dedicated songwriter, I write many of the songs we play here at TFB. |

Gear (aka Geek Corner): |
|
Acoustic: an all koa wood Martin (D16K), an 80s maple Guild Jumbo, a 12 string Takamine (Martin copy) from the 70s, and a cherry and cedar concert size Norman salvaged from a pawn shop and refurbished.
Electric: a reissued ’69 Fender Telecaster Thinline, and a Guild T-50 (60s) both played through a little 3.5 watt tube amp modeled after an old 60s Fender Champ in a homemade swamp cypress cabinet, with a modified Ibenez Tube Screamer and a Marshall vibrato pedal |
